E-MTB shooting where I had the assignment to document some field tests done by german bike manufacturer FOCUS Bikes. They wanted to find out how different variables influence the reach of an e-MTB battery. The most important factors are: weight, riding terrain, assist mode and temperature. So the task was to find it out with a couple of real world experiments. For example: If I ride with my buddy who's half the weight that I am - how much further will he get with one battery... Or: Riding in different temperatures. As we all know that batteries don't last as long when it is really cold... To answer these questions we went on the local trails around Stuttgart, close to the FOCUS headquarters. And for the temperature experiment we had the pleasure to use the climate chamber of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). To find out more about the reach test, see the results and watch the webisodes visit the FOCUS website.
